Just a blog on Geocaching...

I've been having such a ball with this thing!

***SPOILER ALERT***   If you do this - don't continue because I may give away stuff, unless you want that! :)

So there's been a few in the Orange Circle Area that I was hell bent on finding.  One of them being at Pitcher Park. I went once with Stacy.  Went again with Pat. Then the 3rd time was winner!  I actually went alone on my way home from my brother and sis in law's b-day party.  I had ridden my bike over there and on my way home I thought - dammit I'm trying again.  I had reached out to the geocaching community for some hints.  I of course didn't want to be told flat out where it was, but def needed some help.  The gal told me the hint she received was "Look for something electrical."  After scouring for about 20 min I was about to say forget it, when I noticed what looked like a socket like thing.  Hmmm...I wonder if it could be in there...OMG IT WAS!  It was the actual cache!!!

Hmmmm...maybe this is something....

 Yaaaaaaaaaaaaas!
Left a little Orange Dragon!

This is the 1st time I've found a Travel Bug.  These are ones you can take then they give you a mission to leave it somewhere far away - usually another country!  I of course left it since this girl can't fly.

This made my whole night.  I was so excited and this was my 1st cache I found all by myself!

My next nemesis was the one in this parking lot at the Circle.  I had gone with Pat twice.  Went by myself once, then finally reached out for help again.  Got some hints "Flat, numbers, looks like it belongs".  So one night I got home early from dinner and thought - I'm going to ride my bike over there and find this damn thing - AND I DID!

Crusin thru my hood

Been looking hard for you ya bastard!
This was the 1st one that was totally flat - just the log.  So no dragons to leave, but dammit if I didn't sign that log with happy enthusiasm!!  I then brought up the app and saw there was another one on the other side of the Circle so why not!  This was another I almost gave up on, because I swear it was in this one spot and I kept circling the area and feeling around trying not to look to weird to the passerbys (Or muggles as the caching folk call them).  I finally thought...hmmm...I wonder if it's....YUP!  Again - all by myself!!!  Squeeaaa!
This was a magnet one which I need to be more aware of.  I'm seeing some of these Altoid Tins stuck places with magnets.  So cool!!

Left a cool Black Dragon
People leave the weirdest shit
Another fun outing was the boy took me to another cool hiking place at Chino Hills State Park.  I'm told it gets really green during the winter months, so I'm excited to come back and see all the green.  There is something eerily beautiful about dead landscape though.  We hit this place on a Friday night.  One thing I'm realizing - is if we're there to hike, I should probably just limit myself to looking for a couple of caches.  They do take time and unless it's just a cache hike I need to compromise to those who want to just hike and only look for a couple.  Ha!  It is friggin time consuming if you can't find the damn thing!  We searched for the one at the Trail Head for a while, but no luck.  I then popped on the app and we ventured off the trail and found this one!

I left the green dragon cuz he matched the green bug someone left!

I almost took the screwdriver
This one actually looked like a piece of trash.  I was like..."Is that it?"  Yup!  We then broke off a little farther up and found this one in a tree trunk!  It was a pretty good size container!

Caching Couple

Someone left a poem!!

Legit container!
We then looked for another one but no luck, and at this point we needed to actually hike.  It was really pretty even though it was quite brown.

This was just up.  Good workout!

These were everywhere and quite pretty!

Sunsets
Favorite picture of the evening!
It's very cool dating a guy into hiking!  I'm seeing so many new places just right around the corner from me and getting out into nature and moving my ass!

I'm hoping to maybe do some caching with some friends who are super into it.  I've had a couple mention it - so look for those blogs to come!

Cache on!
