Rugged Maniac 2015...

Here we are again!  3rd year of doing The Rugged Maniac!

This year I was joined again by Taylor and we had a virgin to OCR's - Mr. Alex Walters!  We all opted for a "party run" this time since we had so much fun doing it last year.  This of course means not really running and taking lots of time for photo ops!  I love this race! There are way more obstacles packed into a 5K than any other race!

We arrived in plenty of time to check in and get ready!

Alex looks scared

This guy had the best shorts eva!

Alex is all about the peace sign pose

Pee break
We are ready!
I ran into some other fellow Weeples and they pulled me into their photo!

Weeple Army
 Ready to Roll!

Boys!
And we're off!

We past this giant wall we had to climb later.  I was able to get over with a helpful boost from Taylor!

Hopped some walls.

Go Taylor!
Taylor was having a rough start and Alex was getting excited so they posed as such.

Yes

We crawled under some barbed wire in mud.

Apparently I thought biting the barbed wire would be funny

Taylor hearts the mud!

This one is called The Gauntlet.  Last year we didn't make it but got a hilarious picture of Libby and I falling.  This year - I got through!  Even though I was behind a woman who was inching her way across and I almost jumped off and started over!  He he!

I so happy

Then we hit the balance beam.  This year they changed it up a bit and had a couple that were more difficult than the rest.  They had little blocks stacked up on the beam that you had to go over.  Taylor opted for the regular beam and finished before Alex and I.  We tried out the more challenging beam with the blocks and all three of us made it across!

Concentration

He was thrilled he finished
We climbed a Cargo Net Wall.

New profile pic!

You got it Taylor!

One of my faves is this trampoline one.  You jump into the middle of the trampoline then bounce onto the wall like a ninja!  Or Frog.  I love these!  Alex unfortunately didn't quite get the hang of it but it made for an awesome photo! Ha!

Ready...

Bounce...
And ninja grab!
Another Weeple!

Who took my picture!

And done!
This woman was trying to get out of the picture but Alex would have none of that

Epic fail and hilarious

We all did the tipping point.

Surfin in the USA

Then Alex and I did the Ninja wall. Alex killed it!  I fell off last year but this year was able to hop across the whole way!  We're ninjas!!!  We even had some people cheering for us when we made it!

Ninja!

Ninja!
We crawled through trenches.

We crawled through mud and down and up through tubes.

I wish this wasn't so blurry!  Such a rad pic!
We carried 25-50lb bags which that lovely Weeple friend took a picture of!

Notice I'm ahead of the boys.  That's right!

Then we came up to one of my other favorites!  I nailed this last year and was so bummed I didn't get a picture.  But Taylor got a good one of me this year!  Yay!  And I made it!  Alex almost didn't make it but pulled it out at the end.  Poor Taylor didn't and got his major injury here.  He's going to have a nice pretty bruise!

I  have no idea what my arm is doing but hell yes!

I'm pretty sure this is the shot from the shot above! It looks like my arm is dislocating!

Almost loses it but recovers!

Next up was the fire!  There were three rows we had to jump over and we did it all together!  I was hoping to get a picture of all of us together but the photographers seemed to zoom in on us instead.

My hands are so dainty like...WTF?

Then we did the rings.  None of us made it through that one!  I don't know how anyone does!  Those damn things are so slippery!

Right before I fell

Almost!
Now here we were at the dreaded Warped Wall.  I almost didn't do it but figured I'd give it a shot.  The cool thing this year, were the guys up there to help you out were rad and large!  Ha!  They were also making eye contact with you and basically motioning for you to run at them and they'll be the ones to help.  I saw my guy and he motioned me forward.  Taylor opted out so he tried to catch a couple of shots!  I did it!  I leaped right up and into the guys arms.  He grabbed me and said "Now throw up your leg!" Which I did.  Holy shit that hurt and that's where I got my major injury. Ouch!  But I did it!!!!  I was so stoked!  Then Alex flew towards the wall for his turn.  He ran, leaped and grabbed the top!  Didn't need help from the guys at all!  Go Alex!

I loved this guy!

Sadly this is where I got myself a nasty swollen bruise.

Go Alex!
Down the slide we went!  It was super high and super fast this year!  We shot down like bullets and hit the water hard!  I have to say it was pretty gnarly but totally fun!

One of my favorites!  Taylor obviously is the only one that saw the camera and Alex looks petrified! Ha ha ha!

We all crossed the finish line together and tried to get a finisher shot but it's a bit blurry.

Blurry finishers!
Afterwards we hit Mr. Bommers soap thing and the guys were all dressed in crazy costumes as they shot us with soap and water!  Super fun!

Wet and lavendery!

Alex is very excited with all his stuff.  I am a badass!

We then changed clothes, checked out the vendors and got our beers.  We watched the wall for awhile then headed out.

Finishers!

Beer
As we were driving home we saw that someone had put bright green signs along the road out that said Thirsty? Hungry?  Come to the Sports Bar!  Um yeah!!!  So that's where we had lunch!  Uncle Bobs Sports Bar!

Ginormous Beer!

Wine for me!
It was a super fun super epic day!  Alex and Taylor did great and I had so much fun getting rugged with the boys!!
