A couple more days in Idyllwild and a proposal...

We had a couple days in Idyllwild planned with Mandy & Jose.  It's their 20th Wedding Anniversary and they wanted the four of us to stay at Hicksville Bud & Breakfast.  They had the Honeymoon Room and we had the Haunted Mansion Room!

I was super excited to have these few days away after a really rough few months.  But before I just share the wonderful few days away I must begin with the biggest news:

PAT ASKED ME TO MARRY HIM!

Our 2nd day there we had a hike planned.  Apparently Pat had been in cahoots with my mom & Mandy and this whole thing was planned out.  He and Elise created a GEOCACHE WITH THE RING IN IT!  My phone wasn't getting any reception so I was bummed thinking geocaching wasn't going to be possible on this hike, but Pat took my phone and said he'd figure it out.  Next thing I knew he says - hey there's one over there - points me a direction which I of course start searching, (apparently when my back was turned he tossed his behind a rock) "No, over here!" he says.  I then spot this.

Psh...that was easy

Thinking well that's a crappy hide, I pick it up and it has a heart on it!  I think how adorable.  (Little do I know Pat, Mandy and Jose are staring at me) I open it and see a ring, and a piece of paper (It had flipped over) I'm so confused and it takes me WAY TO LONG to realize what I'm looking at.

Wait....what?

I'm so confused.  I'm muttering what is this?  Derp derp derp....then I read "Will you Marry Me?" and Pat is staring at me and says "Yeah!!" WHAT?!?! Mandy captured the moment of realization but for some reason I can't upload videos here.  But you can see me burst into tears on my Instagram announcement if you happen to follow me :)

But basically something like this...

Holy Shit.

NO IDEA.

The sweetest most romantic proposal ever.  I of course said yes.

We're engaged!

How adorbs is this?

I get to pick out my own ring

So there's the big news.  I'm getting married you guys!  I can't believe it and I'm so happy and excited!!!!  Squeeeeaaaaaaa!!!!

Ok - on to the rest of the trip.

Pat & I got there a little early so we had lunch at the Wine Bar we hit last time.  Had such a lovely time, met Lenny Moscarelli who was a delight and chatted to us about his life living in Orange!  And he played saxaphone!

So - Hicksville is THE BOMB!  The room are rad.  It' gorgeous.  And there are cats!!!  Heaven.

We arrived Wed late morning and checked in to our room.  So friggin cool!

Mandy and Jose got there right after us so we checked out each other's room and got settled in.

Our room is RAD!!!

This "Secret bookcase" was the door to our bathroom!

The Honeymoon Room

Mirrored Ceilings...giggle!

Mandy & Jose had the best view!

The grounds are just beautiful!  There's a rec room - you can only use if you're vaccinated, 3 sweet cats, games, lounging areas, just all kinds of cool stuff!

I'm gonna like it here

Our room was on the bottom there

The grounds are so pretty!

Our 1st night we had reservations at Cafe Aroma.  Same place Pat and I had gone to the time before.  Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed this time, but the food was still decent.  We had a wonderful evening toasting Mandy & Jose's 20 Year Wedding Anniversary!

Happy 20th!!!

We then just hung out on their porch and visited the night away.

Night 1

Day 2 was our hike - which of course for me turned magical!  These are the non proposal pics.

The hike that I'll never forget

Just stunning

Fabulous Foursome

Started the trail as boyfriend/girlfriend ended it Fiance's

We cleaned up and headed back out to the town to shop and wander.  Had a lovely lunch at the brewery we hit up before. Hit an awesome random rain then brought munchies back to the motel and chilled the rest of the night there.

DEER!

They just walked up like nuthin!

They did have a face off with Norma which was pretty funny - she was ready to kick their ass!

Such a lovely evening

Might be my favorite pic

Night 2

The next day Pat and I had breakfast, found my one and only non marriage geocache then hit Vista Point on the way home.

A lovely little getaway that turned into something very special!
