The usual October happenings...

2 years ago Taylor and I attended Delusion which you can read about here.  It was AWESOME!  They didn't do it last year, but did this year!  Yay!  Tickets went up a bit but were totally worth it!  Delusion is an interactive theatrical experience.  You are put in groups of 10.  Different actors lead you through an abandon mansion playing different characters.  I was so damn excited for this year and we brought along Jay, Julie and Mel!

The story this year was called Crimson Queen.  We were told we were the children of Selene, a half vampire/half human.  We were off to go searching for her and our father through the house.  Our 1st gal we watched through a window, then she brought us in.  Some of the interactive stuff was we had to untie her (We just watched her smoke from sunlight) then my favorite was at one point she flew through a wall!  We never saw her hook up the pulley!  There were also other vampires flying around on harnesses! So cool!  Another fave, was a dude trapped in a wall - Julie reached her hand through and he bit it!  She pulled her wrist back and it had fake blood on it.  I got volunteered to bring the plant lady her "drink".  I went in by myself while the group watched.  She entangled me in her tendrils and the group had to come rescue me.  Another time Jay and I got separated from the group.  We then got pulled away by a vampire bride who put Jay in a coffin then took me into another room and pushed me up against a wall, biting my neck and trying to get me to tell her who released Selene.  The entire show was about an hour and so much fun!  All the acting was stellar.  The sets were gorgeous and the effects so damn cool!!!  It's one of my favorite events!  I defiantly plan to go again next year and I think our whole group would come again.  Such a great experience!

The next day I headed down to San Clemente.  Mom was down there for a week, so I brought Keri down for the weekend and I stayed the day on Friday.  Mom wanted to go on a shopping spree at the new outlets that afternoon then we hit up Fishermans Wharf per my request for an early dinner.
It was a lovely (a bit cool) day!

My usual.  Sadly they weren't as flavorful as I like

Then Saturday morning Taylor and I headed up to LA for our long ass fun Saturday!

First up was Justin's play Robin Hood.  He directed and was so proud of it.  The show was adorable!  We had mimosas 1st at his place, headed over the to 11am show (with lots of kiddies) then off to a yummy sushi lunch!

Love these guys!

He was collecting $$$ for a great cause to help folks have a Thanksgiving Dinner - I got my sticker as a thank you for supporting!

After that Taylor and I headed over to Universal for my favorite Halloween Event - Halloween Horror Nights!!!  Jay treated a huge group of us to dinner at Bucco di Beppo then Front of Line tix to the Haunt!  So friggin awesome and so much fun!!!  Jay is seriously one of the sweetest most generous people I know.  I just adore him.  We all had a blast!

All the mazes were spectacular.  My favorite was Krampus because that's one of my favorite characters.  But honestly all the mazes were great.  I didn't get a good scare, but the effects were fantastic.  The Purge theme throughout the park was also very cool.  Lots of loud dubstep/metal music as crazed masked folks came after you with chainsaws! ha ha!  So much fun.

Waiting for our night to begin!

Hi Krampus!!!!
Here's a video of the man himself who loves Halloween as much as I do!  I was trying out the slow motion video feature on my phone.

The weekend was packed full of good times and by Sunday I was more exhausted than I have been in a long time.  But so damn worth it.  A big thanks to mom for taking me shopping and a huge thank you to Jay for always allowing me to enjoy one of my favorite nights!  I got to spend the weekend with people I adore at the beach and theatrical fun and Halloweenie fun - how better could it get!!

Weekend Smiles...

Sometimes life bites you in the ass.  And sometimes when life bites you in the ass you have a really great weekend to distract you from life biting you in the ass.

Friday night - I didn't want to be home.  Robin and I walked to Cafe Lucca for dinner.  A much needed bestie evening.

Saturday morning - A Sumi Wedding!  Steve Sumi is my dads BFF.  I used to babysit his 3 daughters.  I attended Jenna's wedding a few years back and last Sat I attended Kati's.  Dad couldn't be there but Lori and I were and had a lovely time!  They got married in Santiago Oaks Park followed by a reception at Orange Mining Company.  My heart swelled watching Steve's proud papa face the whole day!

So cute!

Saturday night I chilled with T and Jenn-nay!  I don't get to see Jenny as often as I'd like so it was a lovely evening of wine and conversation.  No pictures but this was me, starving at 11:30pm waiting for my Salmon Taco to nuke.  I can't remember the last time I ate so late.  Tabitha was not amused.

Sunday came the Cut A Thon.  Barbara hosts this event every year, and this year I got mom out on her bike to hit the event and have lunch!

We got to meet little Leo!

How cute is she
We then hit the cemetery and saw that gramma's headstone arrived.  She always loved humming birds so we picked a headstone with one on it.  I'm so happy we did.  She would love it.

Then Shane was in town for 1 night, so we got a little time with him.  I still have not accepted the fact that he and D have moved away :(

A couple of friends joined us at Burger Parlor and was a perfectly lovely evening!

Family all together again!

They gave me my wine (from a tap!) in a pint glass.  WTF.

Life may be bumpy sometimes but weekends like this one certainly help you get through it!
