Easter 2016...

Mom hosted another amazing Easter Eggstravaganza!!!  We made some yummies.  Most everyone brought yummies.  Mom hid 420...yes...420 eggs this year.  The decor was adorable. The food amazing and most of all the company was fantastic!  Thanks mom for making yet another fantastic Easter Celebration!

A couple of weddings...

On the same day.

Yup.  March 19th I was a guest at 2 weddings.  Of all the Saturdays in the whole year these folks picked the same one.

One of them was at my house!  Let's start there.

Todd.  Todd is my brothers best friend.  There is a group of them that all grew up together and have stayed friends all these years.  I'm really only close to them through my brother.  I used to beat up most of them.  I was the asshole big sister.  My landlady's sons are part of this crew.  So - Todd and Brittany wanted a "Garden Wedding".  Keri (my landlady) offered up her house.  So - the actual wedding ceremony was next door and the reception was at our house.

It was beautiful and lovely yes, but it was a bit of an inconvenience for myself.  As you know - I live in a shoebox with no insulation.  Knowing this crew and their love for partying late into the night I knew I would not be able to stay in my little house that is literally in the middle of the big soiree.  So - my lovely mother because she loves me - paid for me to stay in a hotel down near my 2nd wedding.  I found out later I could have actually come on home after wedding #2 since the cops broke up wedding #1 right at 10pm and everyone was cleared out by 11pm.  Because there were fireworks, and the DJ booth faced my house so when I came home Sunday morning shit was off the shelves, my cabinets were popped open, frames off the walls and oh...there were apparently 30 complaints.  Good Lord.  My poor cats.

But aside from all that - it was very pretty.  The bride looked gorgeous.  They basically put the wedding on themselves with help from friends and family.  I wasn't able to stay for the taco truck (dammit!) but I did get to enjoy the wedding and a glass of wine or two!  Pics from wedding #1!

There was a selfie station so Keri and I tested it out

So as everyone was sitting down getting ready to eat and start the reception I ran off to check into my hotel and hit wedding #2.  This was the wedding of Shannon and Aric.  Shan is one of my very dear friends and I'm so happy she has found such a sweet guy to share her life with!  Shan and Aric actually got married a couple of weeks prior in a very private small family wedding.  This was the reception that more people were invited too.  I arrived just in time.

Shan and Aric arrived New Orleans jazzy style!

It was so cool!!!!  That is how I want to arrive at everything!!!!

We then all headed into the black box theater at SOKA University.  Shan sings with a Big Band and as a gift to her they all performed.  It was so awesome!  Her decor was peacock feathers and silver.  It was such a beautiful evening filled with love!  Her parents cut a rug, Shan sang a few numbers, the speeches were so sweet and emotional.  They had a funny full size cut outs of themselves to use in the photo booth.  Boxes of Oranges were there for the taking on your way out as well as the little favors and bottles of water.  I had such a wonderful evening and was honored to be a part of it!

I'd also like to throw in the pictures of Shan when we went dress shopping!  She had picked the dress out online.  The girl wanted her to try on more than one dress but nope - the one she picked out and tried on 1st was the one she got!

Congrats to both the happy couples!!!!!
