Teatro Martini...

The boyfriend's birthday was last week and I wanted to take him out for a fun night since he's more of an experience guy rather than a presie guy.

I thought...my friend is in this thing called Teatro Martini that could be fun?  So I shot the dear Alex an email and he set me all up.  Since he was able to get me a performers discount, I went ahead and purchased a couple of upgrades - front row seating and then a little package that got you champagne, cake and a souvenir photo!  I really wanted to make it a special night for someone so special to me.

Holy shit friends - go to this!  It's super fun!

It's located inside the same building as the Pirates Dinner Adventure in Buena Park.  Get there early because parking fills up fast.  You check in 1 hour before showtime (8 on Fridays and 9 on Saturdays).  You get a 4 course dinner, that includes a glass of champagne and a night of hilariously fun interactive awesome theatre, song and different types of acts.

Patrick and I got there way way early (because of course we did - it's me) so we hit the bar next door for a pre-show drink.  FYI - New Moon bar and lounge is right next door - and a perfect spot if you're hitting one of these entertainment venues.  We got ourselves each a drink and complimentary crunchies.  (Have I mentioned how much I friggin love crunchies?!)

We got in line to check in, and unfortunately that night they seemed to be having some issues, so we didn't get let in until almost 7:30 after what seemed to be a bunch of confusion.  But alas - we were in!  We immediately got hit up for our photo which you can grab boas and hats:

Dorks
You then hang out in the bar area where free appetizers are available as well as drinks for purchase. They had Chandon Rose - IN!

How cute are we?!

I need to learn that "skinny arm" pose....
A couple of the actors (including my friend!) come out and start doing some bits, then you are herded pretty quickly into the theatre.  We sat at table with a couple of really sweet women and another couple.

Purple!

This may be my next profile pic...
1st course was this delicious tomato based, I think, chowder.  It was yummy!

After this 1st course - it takes off.  That would probably be my only complaint - the whole show is happening at the same time your getting your food.  I wanted to give my full attention to the performers, especially since we were in front, and eat - but it was tough.  It's also interactive - so they may say something to you or mess with you while you have a bite of food! Ha!  I didn't take any more food shots until dessert because the show was so great!

A few minutes before showtime my friend Alex aka "Rob" and his side kick Jinx were warming up the crowd.  There was also this other guy - I missed his name dammit, but he was hilarious as well!

Jinx and "Rob" aka Alex

Then Jinx came around at one point and was offering free shots to people - Vodka or Tequilla.
She was the cutest!

Birthday Boy doing a shot
About this time is when I would say the show kicked into full gear.  A gal came out from behind the bar (kind of behind us) and sang.  We were also warned that the stage moved up and down - pretty cool effect!

There was an aerial and silk dancer.  She was freaking amazing!  I loved watching her.  She was such a great performer.  She did the silk 1st, then came out later with the hoop.  Smiling the whole time!  You could really tell she was loving what she did and she was fantastic at it!

This guy came out a couple of times and did a comedic sort of magic act.  He was probably my least favorite but not horrible.  His bits were just a bit too long.  He did do a pretty cool magic trick though that involved cards and jenga!

Now these girls - They deserve massive fucking props.  These girls were not only in the show but also our waitresses.  The little blonde gal on the end was ours.  They would sing and dance and then turn around and be bringing us our food.  They did not stop all damn night.  They were fun and cool and kept up the upbeat fun attitude all night!

These girls were the BOMB!
Now here's a moment captured by Patrick and his fancy phone (you iphone people have cool shit).  He took a bunch of pictures - and they move!!!  It's such a trip.  So some are stagnant but some are moving ones, so hopefully they upload right (It looks like I had to add links so see the little blue words!).  Ha!  Anywhoo - "Rob" and company came out and were looking for a "girlfriend".  Well guess who got pulled up onstage.

 Oh My
He was making me slap his nipple

And of course I got a shot
 Shots

Seriously - SO. MUCH. FUN.

Right after this, they actually the went and grabbed Patrick and announced for all couples to come up to the stage and slow dance!  It was like this really sweet romantic moment in the midst of hilarity!  A gal came out and sang "At Last", while we danced along with a bunch of other couples (joking about how neither of us can really dance).  It was probably one of my favorite moments of the night.  It may be silly - but I do love a little romance.

We then got our cake!  The chocolate one was delish!

The other highlight of the night - They got Patrick!  The little gal Jinx made a comment earlier that she was going to make him her boyfriend later.  They pulled him and 2 other guys up onstage and did a great bit!  The girls were adorable, dancing around them - Jinx doing her comedic bit (She is so the part I would want to play if I was in this show!)  Then they blindfolded the fellas and that damn hilarious guy came out dressed as a woman and we all about fell out of our chairs - he was hysterical!

So happy he was having fun and not mortified!

Saucy!

And there's my friend...garters and all!
There was this other gal who was an MC of sorts as well.  She was funny and had a magnifiecent stage presence!

After this the show pretty much wrapped up with a wild run of a bunch of different mini acts/dances/costume changes that was a whirlwind of hilarious fun!

And that was that!

This night was an absolute and total blast!  I'm so happy Patrick had a good time and enjoyed his birthday present.  I had sore cheeks the next day from laughing so hard.  A huge bravo to this cast of characters!  So much damn fun!

Highly recommended if you all want a raunchy night of fun!

Gladiator Rock N Run...

So I stopped doing this race a while ago.  I couldn't really remember why, other than these races are getting expensive, hence the major cut back.  But this one popped up and was right up the street at Angel Stadium.  My friend Fatima was doing it too so why not.

Unfortunately the race got moved to half a year later - which put Fatima out.  I convinced my friend Mel to give her 1st OCR a try and do it with me.  She was in!  SUCKER!!!  Ha!  J/K of course.  She killed it.

We showed up way early and were quite surprised at what looked to be a pretty low turn out.  We actually hopped in an earlier wave time and off we went.  I was now reminded why I don't do Gladiators anymore.  I'm more of an obstacle girl, and this race is more running and the "obstacles" are mostly just exercise/cross fitty stuff.  Like - Plank for 2 min.  Wall sit for 2 min.  Do burpees with cinder blocks.  Stuff like that.  I mean - it's a way funner work out than going to the gym, but I sign up for these things to do obstacles.  Hence - Rugged will always be my fave.  We were also super disappointed in the lack of volunteers and lack of photographers (which super bummed me out because my little camera broke, so I was hoping Mel could get more!).  It was kind like a ghost town race to be honest.

But - that all aside - Mel and I still had fun!  She did great!  I love helping the virgins through their 1st race.  I think she may even sign up for Rugged now! Yay!  I was pretty proud of myself because I conquered the monkey bars and the Beast Wall!!  I scurried up the cargo net super fast as well.  Mel was quite impressed.  We ended up having a great time.

Pre-Race:

This picture actually made the photo album and the email!  I'm famous!

This was fun!
Post Race:
Dur-tay!

We finished!

Adding another one of these bitches to my collection

Thanks for the shot Mel!
And of course - the best way to end a race is with delicious burgers and booze!!!  (Burgers not pictures - we inhaled them)
Mel captured our booze beautifully!

Knotts Berry Farm Boysenberry Festival...

Thank you Taylor!!!

We have our in at Knotts now and Taylor hooked us up!  Mom and I had been wanting to hit the Boysenberry Festival and finally made it this year!  Taylor joined us as well and his lovely friend Jazmine!  It was a perfectly lovely fattie day!!!

Taylor, mom and I arrived and realized - "Holy Shit it's Spring Break Time.".  I honestly don't remember the last time I saw Knotts this crowded!  People love their boysenberries!

We hit the Chicken Restaurant for a little snack before the day got started since the festival tastings didn't start until 11.  Unfortunately that was not a good idea!  We had the weirdest worst server and I actually thought mom was going to throw down if our food took any longer.  But - we made the best of it and got to know Jazmine!

As we wandered into the park I absolutely loved all the beautiful flower displays!  So pretty!!

They had old skool comic strips on the construction sites! So rad!

Before we started eating, mom of course wanted to shoot things.  She hit every damn target!!!

We also found a coffin.

Then the eating began!

Boysenberry BBQ Chicken Wings

Sausage with Boysenberry Mustard, Ketchup and Relish!  The Relish was friggin awesome!

Corn with Boysenberry Mayo and Butter and Parmesan

Boysenberry Macaroon.  More like a cake.

Boysenberry Ice Cream

Boysenberry Lemonade - so good!!!

Boysenberry Ice Cream Sandwich

Gnocchi with Boysenberry Sour Cream and Short Ribs with Boysenberry BBQ sauce.  The Short Ribs were my favorite of the day!  Not much of a boysenberry flavor but damn delicious!!!

We're ready to EAT!
There was also a beer and wine tasting area!!  Taylor did the beer and I did the wine!

Love Layer Cake but had never tried the Malbec! So good!

You got a little cracker and cheese plate with your $25 tasting card (included 6 tastings)

This was my favorite!  I had the Rose from Malibu Wines.  So good!

Mom and I chillin with all the toys we won (I only won the pink penguin), snacks, wine and the new bunny ears I got. Bliss!

Taylor and I ready to DRINK!
There was also a pie eating contest we checked out!
The kids ate the pie on the parents heads! HA!

The woman in the middle was yelling at her kid the whole time - "HURRY!!!!".  It was goddamn amazing.

The very colorful announcer!  He was a hoot!  He was also teaching dances earlier in the day.
In the late afternoon we decided to call it a day, but decided to check out the The Cauldron Bar before we headed home since it was right behind the parking lot.  I'd been wanting to check it out and it was awesome!!  Not too huge of a food selection (damn good though!) but super fun drinks and very cool service staff!  Also the decor was fantastic!!!

We didn't want to walk all the way around and mom was having issues getting over the fence.  I was taking pictures rather than helping, ha ha ha!

In the bathroom!

Seriously...I want that pin up witch in my house

Trying new places!

It was a great day of yummy food and actually some pretty decent wine!  We played games, wandered the park and had a great time!  We even tried a new spot afterwards.  I'm a lucky girl!

Oh...and PS...I was trying to learn how to use the Slo-Mo on my phone....
