We bought a condo!!!

 I'm a friggin homeowner!

What?!?!?

Ok - so we weren't planning on moving so soon after just moving not even a year ago.  But - the rent at this place was super high and the kid isn't staying with us as much so financially this house was just too big and too expensive for Pat & I.

We decided to start looking.  The market is still pretty much ass right now but after much discussion we figured it would still a better investment to buy.  We had a very short window to buy so we called our wonderful friend/realtor Sarah and hit the ground running.  It was super frustrating at first.  Interest rates keep creeping up, houses are still over priced and the things we were finding in our price range were just too much of fixer uppers for Pat & I since we lack the amazing DIY talent of my family.  LOL.  We were about to throw in the towel and try to find another rental (which is a different kind of nightmare out there right now) when I came across this condo that looked really nice.

We hit it up the next day.  Everything inside was upgraded.  It was beautiful!  We could just walk in - turn-key perfection.

Done - we signed a zillion things of paperwork and did all of the things - most of which I didn't understand at all but I married a very smart man and Sarah is the bomb.

Closed escrow October 14th.

WHAT?!?!?

Big move day November 5th - Movers booked.

OMG!!!  IT'S HAPPENING!

We started getting rid of ALOT of shit.  This new place has no yard - so basically all outside stuff -  Gone.  I started posting stuff online to sell (This made me hate people btw) and we started a massive purge and organization to get ready for the move.

We had a random heat wave so Libby came over and we had a last hurrah in our pool - THAT is the only thing I'll really miss from the Hart St rental.

I will certainly miss having a pool

Move day arrived quicker than expected and we hired the same moving company as last time.

Escrow close day was the day after my procedure I talked about last blog - and although I was still not feeling 100% I was hell bent on being there and getting our keys and doing the whole our 1st home picture!

Homeowners!

Our 1st home!

The adorable little welcome basket from Sarah!  She even had treats for Poe and Luna!

Since the keys were handed over on the 14th and our movers weren't scheduled until Nov 5th - we had a good amount of time to just take our time bringing random things over and figuring out what we needed.  (Our lease wasn't up at the rental until end of Nov.  In fact -as I'm blogging this, Pat is over at the old place doing some last minute things for the final time) So that was awesome.  My mom ended up talking a bunch of our furniture and refurbishing it to match our new place.

And that's what's so cool - OUR NEW PLACE.  Like it's ours!  So Pat & I really chose decorating styles and what not.  It's been really cool and my mom has helped out so much because she's so great at it!

Shane and D came over one day to see the new digs and brought us booze to toast!

Once the big move day came - it was exhausting  - but so glad to be out of the rental and into our new home!

Last work from home Friday at the Rental

Luna exploring the new digs

We're finally feeling totally moved in after a couple weeks.  It will be an adjustment getting used to "Condo Living" but I love our home!

I let myself chill a second and not unpack all of the things the 1st day, so we took the time to unpack and get everything organized.  The pets have fit right in and seem to love the place as much as we do!

She is not a fan of my new WFH set since I'm on a higher chair

That's better

She's also found she loves the bathtub

My new kitchen makes me want to bake again!

My brilliant engineer hubby figuring out the picture hang situation

Since the sun never hits our porch this is my new way to make sun tea!

Our living room is of course the main focus - and we decided to do a Gray/Green theme.  Our love for the outdoors gets tied right in!

So cozy!

All those pictures are nature pictures I've taken!

Mom refurbished that coffee table.  Used to be my hope chest!

Cant wait to use that fireplace

Our booze corner, including a piece mom painted

Going down to the garage (Lots of damn stairs in this place...the only real complaint)

Yes I did hang a picture in our half bath

Our cute little porch!

Some of my plants made it over!

So happy to keep some of my plant babies

Love this pic from Julie!  It's perfect there!

Lots of stairs up to our rooms

So cute though right?!

We can fit all our furniture in here!  And mom did that dresser too!

Looking forward to baths again!

The 2 other rooms

Currently the 3rd room is a guest room/Luna's room/Pelaton workout area

So there it is!!  We still have to tackle the garage and get some more pieces for decor but we're in and settled and I love it!  The complex has 2 pools and a clubhouse.  It's super dog friendly.  Lots of trees and grass patches everywhere.  It's also right across the Santa Ana Riverbed from my mom!  We can literally walk across the bridge to each other's house.  And Grivalda Park is walking distance as well.

We plan to stay here a long while.  I truly look forward to not moving again for a bit.  It's also really weird but really cool to know I actually own this with Pat.

Can't wait to make new beautiful memories here!!
