So - as per usual this time of year - the Sun has decided to plant it's hot ass onto Southern California and live here for way too long. SoCal is turning into a desert. We've had no rain. Hot as Satans taint weather. And everything cost wise has skyrocketed. Including our Electric bill because our current home does not hold in the cool air, and as not to kill our pets or ourselves - we gotta keep the air on. UGH.
Anywhoo - just wanted to drop in some joy here while we continue to swelter.
One of our good friends in the theatre world turned 50! T threw a lovely little garden party and encouraged everyone to dress up. Some did, most didn't - it was f-ing hot. But it was super cute and super well done as is no
surprise when T has her hands in something. It was also like a mini OCC
reunion which was also super cool! So Happy Birthday Jill!!
I also did a staged play reading! There's a collaborative called "That's what She Said..." spearheaded our friend Heather Enriquez. She wanted to get together an annual series of play readings written and directed by women. I believe this was the third or fourth year - but I was in two! My sweet friend Brenda asked me to be in hers and I was also asked to be in a piece another co-hort Kathy was directing. It was one weekend and the two I was in performed on Friday night. Super cool to be back onstage again!

Then here came Labor Day! No I did not go to the Street Fair this year because I didn't want to die. So since we're paying rent out of our ass to live in a house with a pool - we lived it up and basically just lived in it all weekend. Friends and family came throughout the weekend to enjoy it with us and we even got Poe to try it out. Lovely weekend of pool time and hiding from the heat time.
