Honeymoon...

We were able to get a honeymoon in!  Yay!  We both love the Central Coast so Pat booked us an air bnb in Atascadero.  We did all the things we love - hiked, ate, drank, enjoyed the beauty of the Central Coast and enjoyed each other!  It was a perfect few days away!

We left on a Thursday and came home on Monday.  The air bnb was awesome - had a hot tub in the deck and overlooked trees and nature.  When we drove around the area we saw deer and wild turkeys!!  So rad!

On our way up we stopped at a newer area in Santa Barbara called The Funk Zone.  It was super cool!  We ate a delicious lunch at Goat Tree.  My only complaint was it was too damn big to eat!  It got a bit messy but it was yum!  We then walked around the area a bit, hit up a winery and I got some geocaching in.  It's apparently a great area to do wine tasting.  They have a bunch!  I'm thinking of coming back here on a girls trip!

Such a cute geocache!

A penny wall!

My 1st wine purchase

Loved wine tasting here.  The gal was wonderful! J Wilkes Winery

My 1st geocache of the trip!

So big!

We arrived in Atascadero, did a quick grocery trip since we decided to just eat in for our 1st night, and Pat made us some yummy steaks!

Our bnb

Yup.  I can live here

Settled in and ready to Honeymoon!

Just some more shots of the bnb and random deer and turkey sightings!

I'd like to always start my mornings like this!

Our 1st deer sighting!!!

AND THERE'S BABIES!!!

Hi friend!

I like our air bnb owners

Pretty flowers on the deck

Wild turkeys!!

BABY WILD TURKEYS!!!!

Hi friends!!!

Day two we planned to hike.  There was a little guest journal in the bnb and a bunch of people seemed to mention the Three Bridges Hike, so we hit that up - super pretty!!!

Cool weepy trees!  Learned this is called Lichen Lace

Such pretty colors!

Love when trees arch over the trail

Well that's just damn gorgeous

Hi Mr. Vulture!

The one and only geocache on this trail

So damn beautiful!

We then came back, cleaned up and hit up downtown Paso Robles.  We got a surprise text from my wonderful friend Rose that she was treating us to dinner that night!  A friend of a friend owns The Hatch.  The food was so delicious and Maggie the owner was an absolute delight!  We felt so special!  Before dinner we wandered around the area, grabbed a drink at a pretty cool bar, did some geocaching, and randomly ran into Holly and Roger!!  Because of course we did!  LOL!  Literally happened to be crossing the same corner at the same time.  What are the friggin odds?!

Pretty buildings

He humors me

This is in the center of town, a really cool little historical museum.  We loved wandering through here and learning all the interesting tidbits of Paso!

Well of course I'll try your featured wines!

Just pretty random stuff around

OMG thank you Rose!!!

Right?!

Yup

Well hey there Holly and Roger!

Very cool geocache find!

There's a little cache there - can ya see it?

The Hatch

Yummy Salmon!!!

Then back to our bnb to relax in the hot tub!

Day 3 started at one of the most beautiful wineries I've seen yet!  I'm familiar with Daou Wines, but never been to the winery.  You have to make reservations way ahead of time, so I had about a month prior.  Daou Winery is damn gorgeous, but on the pricy side for sure - so be ready.  Worth every damn penny though!  Our server Wesley was an absolute joy!

My mecca

Well hello beautiful!

Our spot for the morning!

Um yeah...pretty breathtaking!

I love us

This winery has a cat!!!!!

Heaven

Outstanding board

Next up was one of our favorites from our last visit to Paso - Scupterra Winery.  I had read that Sat/Sundays in summer they have live music and food trucks!  We ended up just getting a couple of glasses of wine and wandering around, relaxed in the shade then played a little Bocce Ball!

Dale Evers newest piece

These wines are in dedication to the winery workers - the heroes!  So awesome!

Um hell yes I had to snap a pic of that!

Pat kicked my ass....this time

After that I had heard of another new-ish area - Tin City.  Super cool little area.  I'd like to actually come back and spend a little more time!  We had dinner at a place called McPhees.  It was pretty good but my burger was ginormous!  We ate so much and so late, we didn't even eat dinner that night!  LOL

Found one Tin City Geocache

Cool band playing

Our last full day we hit up another hike closer to the coast.  It came recommended on a few blogs, then I actually found a little flyer in the bnb!  It was called Fiscalini Ranch.  It was friggin gorgeous!!!!  And - I got the closest to a deer than I've ever got!!  They were just walkin around like nuthin!  So beautiful!!  I friggin died!!!  I did try to geocache but there was way too much Poison Oak, so no luck there.  But I saw deer!!!!!

Well that's just beatiful!

Random cool benches all over

A fucking deer just walking across the trail!!!!!

Holy Shit HAI!!!!!!!

Trying to geocache around the Poison Oak

Loved the pretty ferns

Thought this was a taxidermy squirrel until he twitched his nose

Just beautiful

Can you even?!

I want this mailbox

I want to pet them

We then hit up Cambria for some yummy late breakfast.  The mimosas were hilarious - super fancy and floofy!  we wandered the town a bit and I finally found a geocache!

Cambria geocache

WTF

Floofy Mimosas

On our way back we decided to just randomly stop at a winery off the 46.  Pat picked Tooth and Nail Winery after saying it looked like a castle!  It was a good stop!  We actually bought a couple bottles!  I had only bought one at the little place in Santa Barbara.

We bought a Rose and an amazing Pinot Noir here!

It has a damn moat!

After a bit of a rest we decided to head back to downtown Paso for dinner.  I had heard a lot about The Alchemist Garden.  That was a good pick!  Ended up being our meal highlight of the weekend!  It was so friggin good!  The flavor combination on the Tiger Shrimp was insane!!!   And the coffee rub cooked steak was amazing!  I almost wish we didn't split the meal!  So damn delicious!  And our waiter Justin was a peach!

Amazing

Our last day we basically got up and headed out.  Bit of a rough start, but stopped in Santa Barbara again for lunch.  We had the perfect little honeymoon!  The weather was perfect.  We ate so much, drank alot but not too much, hiked, wandered, saw beautiful countryside (We want to move there now), and had just a lovely honeymoon!  I'm so grateful we had such a great trip!!

Happy Honeymooners!!
