Another Adventure Lab and converted a new geocacher...oh and food!

This last weekend I had a perfectly lovely day I'd been looking forward to!
I was spending the day with two of my favorite humans, showing one of them how to geocache then a delicious brunch to follow.  Um - YES.  All of the things I love.

My friend Neets wanted to learn the ropes of geocaching so she could do this with her kiddo.  Jules is like besties with Neets and is one of my best geocaching companions.  Since 2 of us are in OC and one in San Diego we find that San Juan Capistrano is a good half way point to meet up.

So I googled places and matched them up with my geocaching map and found a perfect spot that looked to have a few caches and an Adventure Lab!  So - I can show her both!  The spot was Reata Park!  It was perfect!  I wouldn't say it's a park you go picnic at, but there's lots of horses and stables, it's an event venue and there's what looks to be a great biking/walking path that goes along San Juan Creek area.

Jules and I got there a bit early and found the 1st cache right off.  We waited until Neets arrived though and let her find it as I started to give her the rundown of being a crazy geocacher!

"Act Stealth"

We then headed down another path multiple times trying to find the next one.  It turned out to be way harder than I anticipated and I forgot to take a photo but we did find it!  Lots of bushwhacking involved.

After this we began the Adventure Lab!  It took you around the park giving you tid bits of knowledge here and there.  It took us through a really beautiful garden that we learned was called a Habitat Garden.  Sadly I couldn't figure out how to find the cache at the end of it (the CO did email me back the next day so now I must go back and get it!) but I believe that Neets is officially going to join the geocaching world!  Jules usually does it with me, but I think this trip inspired her to download the app for herself as well!  Yay!

There was lots of counting involved

Which path do we chose?

After our wonderful stroll and 2 successful finds we headed to a great spot for brunch!  It was a happy accident - just googled lunch and what was close and Scarlet Kitchen & Lounge popped up!  It was absolutely delicious!!!!

My mouth is watering....

We started off with one of the specials that was a Halibut Ceviche.  Oh. My God.  So refreshing!  The citrus flavor was spot on!  I then got Rueben Tacos with miso greens that I promptly inhaled.  Neets raved about her burger and Jules said her fish & chips were perfection.  Their bottomless mimosas had a variety of juices you could have.  Pomegranate for me and Grapefruit for Jules.  Neets said her Blonde Beer was great.  Our waitress was wonderful and informed us they usually do live music at night - so this place is def a re-visit!

What a wonderful day with two wonderful woman whom I love to pieces!!
