This is mainly just a photo blog.
I've done a bunch of random stuff with different friends and I've been snapping pictures here and there with my phone.
My social calendar has been full and it's still packed up through most of summer!! I'm so grateful to have so many friends and the time to spend with them!!! I'm a lucky girl.
First up is this beautiful picture I took of my gramma on Memorial Day Weekend when I took her for our weekly visit to the cemetery. I feel like it's heartbreaking and beautiful all at the same time. The grounds were really beautiful with all the flags. The boy scouts come around and stick a flag on the headstones that have reference to serving in one of the Armed Forces.
My dear friend Jay was in town for a few weeks to celebrate LA Pride and visit with friends. He rented a cute little house up in WeHo. One night he put on a dinner for all his OC friends. A huge group of us showed up at Claim Jumper and it felt like a mini Rude Guerilla Reunion! Lots of faces I haven't seen in a very long time!

Quite the Motley Crew! |

Heather and Jody drove up with me! |
A friend of mine that I used to work with at the opera a lifetime ago, was in town. She moved to Austrailia, got married and had a kid. She now lives in Oregon with her family and we found each other on Facebook. She was in town staying at an adorable little place in Laguna Beach and I headed down one night to catch up. It's been like 15 years! So cool to see her!

On a random Monday, Rick and I decided to check out this interesting show up in LA. It was part of the Fringe Festival and my good friend Angela choreographed it. The concept was this odd rock/metal band would perform the story and a group of dancers danced/moved/twirled on silks acting out the story onstage. The crew that put it together is these guys
House of Rabbits and my friends movement group is
Post Mortem. I thought the band was ok. It was hard to understand the singer. They didn't blow me away. But I did love the show! The choreography was spot on and two of the actors did this absolutely amazing aerial silk bit that had me squealing in my seat!
Rick and I decided to head up and make a day of it since LA is so awful with traffic. We landed at Hollywood Forever Cemetery and just wandered around. I had been a few times for the Day of the Dead celebrations but Rick had never been. It was a beautiful sunny day, warm and breezy, and we had a perfect time. We weren't really sure what we were doing at first, so we wandered into one of the mausoleums. We then drove around and decided to just park and wander. The place is truly gorgeous and interesting. Lots and lots of huge tombs and headstones. Here are some shots I took.

Actually Rick took this of me. I was shooting the swans and he said "Let me take one of you!" I love it! |

We came across Mickey! |
We then "yelped" for a restaurant nearby that was open (It was an odd time for dinner...like 3:30ish) and found this outstanding little Italian Restaurant called
Osteria Mama. It was sooooooooooooooo delicious! It was also a perfect time! Since the time was odd, there was really no one there. The owner came out and chatted with us and helped me pick a bottle of wine while telling me the history of Zin and Italy. He talked a bit about where he is from in Italy and was very cool. Rick and I ordered this amazing bruscetta that came in not only tomatoes but artichokes and mushrooms! I had the Linguini Vongole and it was so garlicy and oily and yum!!! Rick realized he'd actually been there before and ordered the pesto pasta he got before. We then split a Tiramasu that we could only eat part of and took the rest to a friend we were meeting at the theater. What was also awesome, was we just chilled there until 6pm and they never rushed us or pushed us out. I know it was empty, but it was still cool of them to just let us hang. We ended up drinking another glass each of wine after our bottle! Then we headed to the show! A perfect day!

I seriously adore this man |
Later that week I took another day off and had a play day with Jay up in WeHo. I got to check out the house that he's planning to rent again when he's back in October! Yay! It ended up just being a lazy pool day. Ryan joined us, followed by Danny and Susie and their son and his lady, then later Erika and Jordan! So quite the mini party. We lounged in the pool, noshed throughout the day, ordered Thai later and then I headed home. So nice and relaxing and so great to see everyone!

Last weekend I headed up to Long Beach to meet up with Angela (the choreographer I mentioned above). She's trekking off to Italy and then England all summer to study with fancy people about dance, directing, movement, etc. We got together for shopping, sangria and Pho before she leaves. Seriously adore this girl!
Then last night we celebrated Shane's birthday at Lazy Dog. Lovely night with the fam and got to catch up with Wendi and her adorable daughter (whom I colored with).

Kendall looks like she's going to smack Shane while they share his birthday ice cream! |

Happy Birthday Shane! |
It's been a crazy busy few weeks and I have some crazy busy few weeks coming up but I love it! I really feel like I'm "summer lovin!".
Don't worry...I am having me time. Here's a very common position that happens at my house.

Everytime I'm on the couch the girls have to join me. I need a bigger couch... |
Also here's a picture of a little friend I made at Staff Summit earlier this month!
Happy Summer!
