October Fun...

Obvi the highlight of this month was our trip to Paso Robles! You can read about that in the blog prior.

On with the rest of October good times!

 The FOOD!

White fish with a sweet corn and bacon salad

Went out to dinner one night at Chapter One and I loved how they plated my salad!

Julie was in Boston and sent me a pic of a heart in her Oyster!
I know this is actually super simple to do - but it's always so pretty!

The HIKES!

One morning I took a solo hike with Rascal. I'm having a really hard time right now. Really missing Poe. Just having a hard time staying positive in our tumultuous world right now. But this particular morning felt the healing power of nature and it helped lift me up.

Rascal and I on our way up "Hawk"

Cori and I took a lovely morning hike on Sunday, that really felt like Fall! Super overcast a bit chilly. I took some fun pictures as well.

We were halfway up Grasshopper and couldn't see a thing!

My favorite shot because you can actually see the reflection in the water droplet

 The FUR FRIENDS!

He loves to just stand there with his head in your lap

Chapter One Date

Did a little photo shoot for Fatima and Beckham

Halloween 2025

A couple of my favorite shots from the morning of shooting

Rascal is enjoying Porch time

Love when she's enjoying the sun

Waiting for a lunch date

Rascal says VOTE!

This little hummingbird was just chilling

We started obedience classes with Rascal. Hoping to get him to not chase Luna, stop barking at everyone who comes over and help his separation anxiety. Everything else he's already pretty good at!

BOWLING SHENANIGANS!

October 9 is Jenny's Birthday and it landed on a bowling night. She was kept in drinks all night!

Some friends showed up and surprised her with goodies!

Lib's 1st Turkey

Love when Tim makes chips and salsa!

Hornets!

This dude loves Tim

Osuna Sandwich

The night before Halloween

OMG Jenny made edible cigarettes!

Mandy wanted to celebrate Jenny's Birthday at Orange Hill and watch the sunset. Unfortunately I was super disappointed in the food there. I don't think I've really cared for this place the last few times, but this one really surprised me because the food was just not good. Everything is overpriced. You also have to pay $10 to even park there. So - that will be my last time at Orange Hill. The view is stunning, but just not worth it anymore. That all aside - us girls did have a lovely evening!

Funny enough the one thing I enjoyed the most was free - this cornbread.

So that was supposed to be a chopped up Wedge Salad...um...the Cavier Frites were a joke. The Coconut Shrimp were burnt. The crab cake was good but we only got one! Ah well.

That view is pretty damn beautiful though!

They do make fun cocktails

Jenny was delighted (too bad the damn brownie was dry)

Saturday Oct 11, there was a Vintage Halloween Show at Chapman Crafted Brewery. Mom was there selling her wares and I helped her out that day. It's a really cute little show, and I think they're doing another one for Christmas! She did really well too! Yay!

How cute is my mom

And how cute is all her stuff!

Pat came by with Rascal to have a beer and say hi!

Later that same night, we did a Pot Luck Italian Food Night at Cori's house. Angela is an amazing chef so we were certainly excited to try her dish. Almost everyone brought their A-Game. Food was great! Pat's home made raviolis were a favorite of course!

Libby made her usual chicken cutlets, I made an Antipasto Salad, Pat's ravioli's with pesto and Angela's Porchetta and Polenta. Not pictured because I had a damn cheese over load and couldn't eat any more was Cori's Eggplant Parmesan and her lovely charcuterie set up! I also made an Amaretto Spritz which was tasty!

That ghost is a Tequila Bottle! LOL

Tianna and Scott were so sweet and took care of Rascal for us. It was his 1st time away, and obvi he was perfectly content

I've been wanting to do some more Adventure Labs, so I hit up one at Irvine Park. Cori joined me for part of it. It turned out to be a bit more crazy than I was intending due to Pumpkin Patch Crowds and spotty internet connection and the bonus cache at the end was broken! Le sigh. But we still had a fun time and it was such a pretty day.

Rascal with James Irvine

Busted Cache

Did another one at Windes Trail at Santiago Oaks Park. This is our "shorty" hike that Pat and I do all the time when we just want a quick work out hike. I was thrilled to see there was an Adventure Lab there. Rascal and I did it one Sunday morning. The Lab was the bottom part of the hike, so we did it, then went back and did the whole hike. After many frustrating tries to get the "certitude" to work I was able to find the bonus cache! So stoked!

Never really noticed these caves looked like eyes

One task was to enter the 5 word written on the white rock in the cave (seriously?! took me quite a few tries but it's Crack")

Woot!

My favorite shot of the day

These Ravens followed us around for awhile

Finally found the fucker!

Later this same day I got bored and went out and did a local Multi-Cache:

Some of the Halloween Decor we saw throughout the month. Sadly we couldn't decorate like we do because Rascal seems scared of them at the moment, so we're going to wait until he's a bit used to things then hopefully decorate like we usually do next year. But I did try to capture some of the good ones I saw:

Love that one of our neighbors got the giant Home Depot Skeleton on their balcony

I did try to get just a touch out at least

The 1st decor I saw of the season at a work lunch one day

We did get over to Pixley Street one night! Best street in OC for Halloween!
Like can I just live here?

Someone was watching me...

I need these

Lots of giant inflatables this year

A tribute to Ozzy!!!!

Rascal wasn't bothered, so next year we go all out again!

How rad!

I loved him

A house by Chapman with some Saucy Skeletons! LOL

One evening Alex, Elyse, Taylor Pat and I went out to dinner and saw NOTLD at Maverick Theatre. It was such a fun night! Got to see Mark and Scottie and it was an absolute blast!

The non-actors with Sara (I did a reading with her years ago)

The theatre crew! Great job Scottie and Marky!

We had our community garage sale one Saturday. I never partake in these, but mom really wanted to so we let her come sell her crap. She actually did quite well! We just kept her company and had mimosas. It was a good training sesh for Rascal as well.
Someone at the sale was selling a skateboard and Pat bought one...oh boy are we in trouble

I think Pat finally got the hint that I was feeling neglected and brought home flowers one day :)

We missed our wine pick up last month, but they hold it for 90 days so we finally got out there to pick it up. It was an absolutely beautiful Monday. We had our usually breakfast at Corkfire Kitchen then looked up wineries open at 10am - found Halter Ranch and now we're members! Yay!!! They have another winery in Paso so it just works out to be members here. And of course the wine is quite good!
So relaxing

Looking forward to this membership!

Mom/Danelle/Stacy had a little Halloween Party one night!

Danelle added a fun background to all the pictures

Eli lovin on Rascal

Hi Kevin!
Had a lovely visit from Josh & Danielle one afternoon! Can't wait to meet Baby Sarsfield!

Halloween Day was very chill. We of course hit up the Chapman Festivities, mainly for the Pet Parade and to show off our cute family costume. Then we just relaxed at home and actually had some trick or treaters! So next year we're talking about setting up something really fun and hopefully get some more people to come by!

When I ran out of candy we turned off the lights and watched one of our favorites!

Neighbors

We were doing some reverse trick or treating earlier, but didn't need to!

Waiting for the kiddos to trick or treat!

This little Corgi was cute but a total dick!

Pretty pretty princess!

Dessert Dogs!

We're so cute!

Ming who is the head of Chapman Pets! Love her!

Avocado Dog
October really zipped by this year. It was kind of weird. So here we are in November and I'm sure these next two months are going to fly by! Trying to capture memories as best I can!
